Nice

I like the jacket design. I found an extra drawstring in the hood, which is really handy.

Don't over think it!

I had to go to Iceland for a work trip with little notice. I was going to pack my parka, but I opted to get this Torrentshell rain jacket as a way to use layers for warmth, and this as my shell to protect me from the wind and rain. Boy it did just that. I know Patagonia makes other rain coats, but this one seems to be the one. I do with that this jacket had a chest pocket or some interior pocket, but that is not what this jacket is for. This jacket kept me dry from rain and snow, and stopped harsh winds while I was outside on my trip. I love when the coats pack into their own pocket as well! I'm eager to keep this jacket and wash it to rejuvenate the waterproofing as it ages.

Know your Patagonia gear

This jacket has been with me through Inka Trail Torrential rain no pun intended through Patagonia Cerro Torre and 6 peak snow and rain hikes and all of the San Gabriel Mountains weather I can get my head under. In the summer time I prep my jacket for the winter ?? and it's been best and lightest rain jacket and best up pretty bad . . . . . . Wash rinse and repeat every year?? with this old friend but I will be buying a new one soon!!!!

Torrent shell fits the bill

Although I haven't had the chance to use it yet, I like what I see. It is relatively lightweight and compressible, which I was looking for, for travel purposes to tropical destinations. The order process was efficient and the customer service was excellent.

best rain jacket I have used

Fit, quality and construction is great. I especially like how adjustable the hood is. Once fitted to your head, you can stay dry and turn your head and the hood will turn with you. I have only been in one heavy rain with it so far. It kept me dry.
