Great but sleeves are long
Patagonia. If you are going to design using a 6'+ male as average, please consider adding a tall size and shorten the sleeve lengths for the rest of us. . . In the US, the average male is 5'9" and I think these sleeves are just too long. If you are tall, lanky, and lean this will be a great jacket for you. It is a slim fit. If you are not then you might not love the fit. Could be a great layering piece.
Perfect Thermal
This is my new favorite R1 jacket. I choose this first before all other lighter outerwear, even in colder temperatures. I've been wearing this comfortably in temperatures in the low thirties without needing an additional layer. It is light and has a perfectly minimal profile. Great new addition to the R1 line.
Stay Warm While Skiing!
This jacket has been a piece of my ski day kit all season and there is no change in sight. It is light but warm and fits perfectly under my shell. I only wear a capilene shirt under this and I often get warm on the slopes. I like that this can be work by itself as well. Another great product from Patagonia!
Amazingly warm
Bought this as a using anytime insulation. I purchased the XXL and it is larger than many other products. Will be great as a base layer for fly fishing in the autumn/winter. Also great for walking the dogs with a vest. Overall, I love this but would recommend getting a smaller size than you usually order.
light weight insulation
Jacket is light in weight and not bulky. The inside lacks the warm fuzzy feeling of my R2 tech face. I'm not sure it is warmer than the R2. It is form fitting which is a +, the side pockets are a little difficult to access.
