This vest work really well as a light midlayer during aerobic activities. I have recently worn it on a snowshoeing trip in temperatures above freezing just over my long sleeve base layer. Depending on the level of the activity I was able to just open or close the zipper, and roll up or down the sleeves on my base layer, and remain comfortable without having to constantly stop and put on / take off my midlayer as I had to do with a sleeved jacket. I still keep a jacket in my pack just in case, but now I don't have to use it unless I am making a longer break.
I’ve really enjoyed my Atom vest. I’m 6’0, 185 lbs and a large fits perfect. Good insulation and comfort. I’ve used it hiking and around town and it’s been a great purchase.
Arc’teryx is a great brand and I’ve just recently upgrade a bunch of my gear and it’s worth the money to do so. You won’t be disappointed and the quality is fantastic.
As with other Arc'teryx products I have been fortunate to have, this vest is top of the line. Very lightweight insulation weight (believe it is 40) yet provides perfect warmth with breathability through side vents.
